Sankranti Special buses earn Rs 2.7 cr for Ongole region
Ongole: “The special services by the APSRTC to meet the Sankranti festival demand have earned Rs 2.7 crore,” announced the Ongole Regional Manager K Adam Saheb.
To meet the festival demand, the APSRTC ran 42 special services to Ongole from Hyderabad, 28 services to Addanki, 23 to Chirala, 48 to Giddalur, 42 to Kandukur, 69 to Kanigiri, 54 to Markapuram and 35 services to Podili depots from January 6 to 12.
For the return journey, the RTC ran 45 services to Hyderabad from Ongole, 25 from Addanki, 27 from Chirala, 41 from Giddalur, 47 from Kandukur, 70 from Kanigiri, 64 from Markapuram and 61 from Podili depots.
Similarly from January 15 to 20, it operated 15 interstate services to Bangalore including 13 special services and 26 services to Chennai and 17 special services from Ongole.
In the revenue generation, Ongole depot stood first with Rs 35.56 lakh and the Kanigiri depot in second with Rs 26 lakh, announced the RM. He presented mementoes to the concerned depot managers on Tuesday in the depot managers and traffic in-charges meeting.
