TD govt committed to Kurnool development: TG
Kurnool: Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh said that the Telugu Desam government was committed to the all-round development of Kurnool. He inaugurated a newly constructed bridge on Kurnool-Cuddapah (KC) Canal near KVR College on Tuesday along with MP Butta Renuka, MLA SV Mohan Reddy, KUDA Chairman Somisetty Venkateshwarulu and Municipal Corporation Commissioner CB Harinath Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkatesh said the government was initiating several steps to beautify Kurnool where several developmental activities were taken up. The MP said the old bridge was unable to handle the heavy rush and as such, another bridge had to be constructed. Venkatesh stated that the bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore. Not only this, the laying and widening of roads and construction of drains and other beautification works were also being taken up at a cost of Rs.1.23 crore, he added. In her speech, Butta Renuka said that traffic flow has been drastically increased in recent times.
The present roads were unable to accommodate the more number of vehicles, she stated. The road leading to the railway station was always seen packed with vehicles round-the-clock. All the vehicles have to cross the KC Canal to reach the railway station as well as other colonies on the other side of the railway station. The second bridge will reduce the traffic jams, said Kurnool MLA SV Mohan Reddy. Later, the MPs, MLA, Commissioner and KUDA Chairman inaugurated green latrines constructed at the C Camp Centre.
