Visakhapatnam: Legislative Council member and TDP senior leader MVVS Murthi alleged that Rajya Sabha Member KVP Ramachandra Rao was attacking Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu only for political gains.

While reacting on Ramachandra Rao’s comments on alleged failure of the Chief Minister in protecting state’s interests,  Dr Murthi said that because of the Chief Minister’s initiative and  continuous pursuance several irrigation projects were implemented in the state in the last four years.

“He must note that while several centrally-sponsored irrigation projects are still in the process and have not seen the light at the tunnel but the mega irrigation project like Polavaram is being completed under the able government of M Chandrababu Naidu within five years,a record in the country,” he said in a release.

He said a person who never faced the public and was involved in several scams during Congress government as chief advisor is now criticising the TDP government with personal agenda, Dr Murthi said. He also said allegations of bribes for obtaining necessary licences and projects during the previous government where KVP’s name also cropped up has tarnished the image of the state.

He said in contrast, the current state government under the leadership of Naidu is enhancing the image of the state to attract foreign investments and was dealing with the Centre in a sensitive manner.  Advising Ramachandra Rao to desist from criticising the TDP government for personal gains, Dr Murthi said the people of AP will teach a lesson to him and his party.
