Sahitya Akademi Award winners feted

Visakhapatnam: Governor ESL Narasimhan felicitated Telugu poet and senior journalist Devi Priya and Telugu writer Venna Vallabha Rao  for  bagging  Sahitya Akademi Award-2017 here   on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Yarlagadda Lakshmi  Prasad   said  that  Devi Priya is known as the father of the Telugu poetic cartoon strip, one of the best in his works include  Amma Chettu (Mother tree).

Venna Vallabha Rao bagged the Sahitya Akademi Award for translation for his ‘Viramam Erugani Payanam’. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao, Rector Gayatri Devi, Registrar V Uma Maheshwara Rao and others officials were present.
