Need for literary meets in all Assembly constituencies

Guntur: Supreme Court judge Justice N V Ramana said he had prepared  plans to conduct administration in Telugu language but  unfortunately, they were not implemented.  He said at present they were using Telugu and English languages in the judiciary. Justice Ramana inaugurated Telugu Sahitya Mahotsavam in Tenali Ramakrishna Kalakshetram in Tenali town on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the need to save Telugu like other regional languages and added that we were unable to try to protect our mother tongue. He also felt that there was a need to conduct Telugu Sahitya Sabhalu (literary meets) twice in a year in all the Assembly constituencies and added that the government and people's representatives should make efforts to protect Telugu language. 

Assembly Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad warned that Telugu would become a dead language if steps are not taken to protect it. Expressing happiness over conduct of Sahitya Mahotsavams in Tenali, he reminded that it was Bollimunta Sivarama Krishna of Tenali who highlighted problems of Telangana into light through his novels.

Lamenting over the strong trend towards English at the expense of mother tongue among parents of children, the Deputy Speaker said there was a need to change mind set of Telugu people in this regard. 

He alleged that  corporate educational institutions were responsible for student suicides and urged the people to love mother tongue to save Telugu. AP Mahila Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari  also participated in the programme.
