Pittapalem in the grip of fevers
Srikakulam: Half of the population of Pittapalem village in Ranastalam mandal was suffering from fever for the past one week. On learning about it, medical camps were organised at the village on Thursday.
According to details, total population of the village is 410 and 200 people of different age groups are suffering from fever. On learning about it, Dr Rakesh and Dr Giridhar belonging to Primary Health Centres of Rawada and Srikakulam conducted medical camps at the village following the directive from district medical and health officers (DM&HO) Dr Sanapala Tirupati Rao.
They collected blood samples of 60 patients and distributed medicines to others. Consuming contaminated drinking water is the reason for mass spread of fevers in the village, DM&HO told The Hans India.
