West Godavari SP selected for President’s Police Medal

Eluru: District Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash has been selected for the  award of President’s  Police Medal.  Born in Tirupati, Ravi Prakash studied MSc (Microbiology) and was selected as a Group-I officer in 1998 at the age of 22 and joined the police department as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Later, he worked as DSP at Peddapalli in Sircilla sub-division in Karimnagar district.

SP Ravi Prakash also worked as a DSP in the faction-ridden sub-divisional police office in Tadipatri. He worked as an OSD of anti-naxalite wing in Mahbubnagar and Guntur districts. Later, he was promoted as SP and worked as a DCP in Vijayawada. He was appointed as SP of East Godavari in 2014. After putting in three years of service, Ravi Prakash was transferred to West Godavari district on June 26, last year.  

During 2010, when he worked as SP of Guntur, Ravi Prakash has received Shourya Pathakam from the Chief Minister. He also received ‘Kathin Seva Pathakam’ from the Central government when he  was working in Karimnagar in 2004. Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the SP said that he was happy to receive the meritorious award from the President.  

He said that following the announcement of the award, his responsibility   has doubled. The entire credit for selecting him for the award goes to his higher officials who valuated his  working performance, he added. He said that he had set up a target to settle the problems of the complainants who visit the police stations.
