Collector paints rosy picture for Guntur district

Guntur: Collector Kona Sasidhar said that district was in the forefront in implementing the welfare schemes and this was revealed in a survey conducted by the state government.  

He said that the district administration distributed 788 tractors under the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme and added that crop loans worth Rs 9,722 crore were waived under the crop loan waiver scheme.

He expressed happiness over the development works going on in a big way in the district. He hoisted the National flag on the occasion of 69th Republic Day celebrations at the Police Parade grounds here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the fifth Janmabhoomi–Ma-Vooru’ programme was successfully completed. The district has a bright future because several government and private organisations were being set up in the district. 

He said that Rs. 14,052 crore were distributed to farmers and SHG groups in the district and listed the welfare schemes being implemented in the district.  He said that the district administration was trying to develop the district in all the fronts. Earlier, he received the guard of honour from the police and home guards.

He distributed loans worth Rs.928, 59, 76,000 through banks to ground various units under various schemes to the beneficiaries. Later, cultural programmes started.

Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao and  Guntur (rural) Superintendent of Police  Appala Naidu were among those participated in the meeting.
