Surya Aaradhana today
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will participate in Surya Aaradhana or Surya Namaskaram (offering prayers to God Sun) programme at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada in Krishna district on Sunday morning at 7 am.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Saturday, he observed that this would be celebrated as State festival and everybody should participate in it irrespective of caste and religion. During the programme, the public will pray to the Sun God.
The Chief Minister said that this programme is aimed to preserve the nature and it was supposed to be organised on Ratha Sapthami day. Due to his absence on that day, the programme is being organised on the Sunday following Ratha Sapthami, he explained.
The Chief Minister explained that if the public wanted to celebrate it on Ratha Sapthami day only, then government would follow it from next year onwards. At the same time, he maintained that the festival could be celebrated on both these days and the pundits explained the same to him.
Chandrababu Naidu explained that the sunlight provides various advantages to human beings and worshiping God Sun is our culture, while announcing the programme. He added that this will be celebrated on par with other programmes initiated by State government including Jalasiriki Harati, Eruvaka, Talliki Vandanam and other programmes.
The Chief Minister suggested to the public to perform Yoga Asanas during the Surya Namaskaram. He added that Surya Asana in Yoga will give better results. Chandrababu Naidu released a special song on the occasion “Srisurya Deva Subhanandanam... Bhulokabrahma Abhinandanam.” He also released a book on Yoga Asanas.
