Tribal farmer shot dead in terror let loose by Maoists

Pinapaka (Kothagudem): Maoists stepped up activity in Bhadrachalam- Kothagudem district’s Agency areas on Friday night and gunned down a tribal farmer in Veerapuram panchayat limits on charges of acting as a police informer. 

They fired at another tribal under Janampet panchayat limits and caused injuries to his hand. Also, they set fire to four lorries, two tractors and two proclainers after dousing them in petrol. In the tribal hamlet of Umesh Chandra Nagar in Veerapuram panchayat of Pinapaka mandal, a group of 20 Maoists struck around midnight at the house of Todem Jangaiah (40), who practices Podu cultivation, and shot him dead. 

Later, they proceeded to Sundaraiah Nagar, tribal hamlet in Janampet panchayat, 8 km away from Veerapuram. They fired at Madivi Ramesh (35). He survived the incident with injuries to his hand.
