Amaravati will be a business hub: Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Emphasising the need to ensure that the benefits of economic and technological developments reach every common man in the State, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed CRDA officials to prepare a special common people-centric strategy to showcase the capital city Amaravati in the forthcoming ‘Happy Cities Summit- Amaravati 2018’ which will be conducted soon.
In a teleconference with senior officials on Sunday, the Chief Minister reviewed the infrastructure development plan of Amaravati. He expressed happiness stating that the India’s youngest city Amaravati had emerged as futuristic economic and business hub for global investors after his visit to Davos WEF summit.
He said that attracting investments for nine unique cities in Amaravati and other regions in the State was his main agenda and he focused on capturing the latest technology by meeting with global experts at Davos which would help for effective implementation of development and welfare schemes to the grassroots levels.
“I want Amaravati to be India’s centre of cloud management, data analytics, Block chain technology, artificial intelligence and cyber security etc,” he said. Asserting that he was doing a fine balance between development and welfare, the Chief Minister said that flow of global investments into the State would create employment and a spirit of entrepreneurship in a big way which would ultimately benefit the poor.
He further said the global entrepreneurs were eager to explore the investment potentiality of Amaravati. “We are now focusing on the global players who are experts in areas of energy and environment, natural farming, food processing, information technology, manufacturing, solar energy, employment and education, infrastructure and financial inclusive businesses for sustainable economy of the state. Hence, CRDA should make all necessary arrangements to invite the global experts from all over the world,” the Chief Minister said.
Principal Secretary to Energy and CRDA Ajay Jain briefed the Chief Minister that as per the infrastructural development plan, it is contemplated to invest total Rs 40,000 crore for construction of government complex in an area of around 8 million square feet.
He said that 330-km length of road infrastructure, 1,300 length LPS network through ADCL (Amaravati Development Corporation Limited), 5,040 housing units under affordable housing scheme in the next three years were the other projects which were under progress.
He explained that tenders were called for projects worth Rs 33,368 crore to create world class infrastructure development in capital city. Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra and others took part.
