Anakapalle MP to introduce Kapu reservation bill in LS
Visakhapatnam: Anakapalle MP Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao announced that he would introduce Kapu Reservation Bill (private bill) in the Lok Sabha in the ensuing budget session.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, Rao said that he applied for permission to introduce the bill as a private bill on January 18 and he received a confirmation letter from the legislative officer to introduce the bill. The Kapu community in the state deserves the reservations.
The Kapu community comprising the highest number in the state are backward, he added.
“Justice KL Manjunatha Committee set up by Telugu Desam government has given its report and the Assembly has passed the Bill. It is now for Parliament has to approve the reservations to the Kapus. As AP Legislative Assembly unanimously passed the bill providing five per cent reservation in education and employment for the Kapus in the state, I am appealing to the MPs of various parties to support the bill,” Srinivasa Rao said.
