Besides the activists, devotees of Sripada Vallabha temple took part in the demonstration. Several swamijis taking part in the protest programme – Srikakulam Srinivasananda Saraswati, Sivaswamy and Vijayawada Srinivasananda Swamy -- observed on one hand the temple authorities went on record stating that irregularities to the tune of several crores of temple funds had taken place, but surprisingly there was delay in registering cases against culprits.

They questioned the rationale behind the delay in registering cases against former governing body members. They demanded the authorities to register cases against all those who were involved in the corruption.

Otherwise, they threatened to stage maha dharna in front of the temple with the participation of Sadhu Sants from all over the country. Putting forward the same demand, Gavaraiah alleged that the corruption had taken place with the alleged intervention of MLA NVSN Varma.

Assistant executive officer Darababu tried to pacify the demonstrators explaining them what had happened during the past one month. When a temple staffer tried to videograph the episode, Gavaraiah objected to this and vented out his ire on Darababu for supporting the staffer.

Tension prevailed at the place as people on both sides almost appeared to clash following the episode. Later, Darababu left the place and confined to his chamber for over an hour.

The protesters raised slogans against Darababu demanding the assistant executive officers to come out of his office and answer their questions. They raised slogans describing Darababu as a coward. After waiting for about an hour, they left the place in a rally to submit a memorandum to tahsildar.
