No dearth of funds for Kotappakonda development

Guntur: State Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao said there was no dearth of funds for development or renovation of the hill shrine Kotappakonda.  He paid a visit to Kotappakonda on Monday and reviewed the progress of various developmental works in the backdrop of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Kotappakonda for Mahasivaratri festivities.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Prasada Rao said that the State government would keep animals and birds in the zoo at Kotappakonda very soon and directed the officials to speed up the development works and complete them within stipulated time for Mahashivaratri festivities. 

The Speaker directed the officials to make all the necessary arrangements for the convenience of devotees visiting the hill shrine and instructed the medical and health department to conduct health camps.The Rural Water Supply department should take steps and supply drinking water to the visiting devotees.

He instructed the police department to beef up the security in the area to the devotees and assured that the government would develop Kotappakonda to attract more devotees.

The government has already sanctioned Rs. 50-lakh for conducting the Kotappakonda festivities on Mahashivaratri. The APSRC has decided to press into service more than hundred special buses from all depots in Guntur district to Kotappakonda for the pilgrims.
