Jagan crosses 1,000-km mark

YSR Congress party president and Leader of Opposition in Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra crossed the 1,000-km milestone on Monday when he arrived at Sydapuram in Nellore district. The 3,000 km walkathon, which began at Pulivendula in Kadapa district, will end at Itcchapuram in Srikakulam district. The yatra is presently going on in Nellore district.

The party’s  programme ‘Walk with Jagananna’ was also organised in various parts of the state and the district leaders extended their support to Jaganmohan Reddy and his efforts to redress the problems of the people of unrepresented communities. 

Jagan inaugurated a 25-foot pylon at Sydapuram along with the party leaders from the district wing. The pylon was constructed by the party in-charge of Venkatagiri constituency and ZP Chairman B Raghavendra Reddy with a cost of Rs 10 lakhs.

Jaganmohan Reddy, who had started the Yatra from Idupulapaya on Nov 6, covered 33 constituencies in 5 districts including Rayalaseema region. He entered Nellore district on Dec 23 and completed Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Sullurpet and Gudur constituencies. He is now touring in Venkatagiri constituency.

He has been addressing the people at important places on local issues, incomplete projects and negligence of the state government in resolving problems. He is also mentioning about party manifesto, Nava Ratnalu, during his speeches. 

More than 30,000 women participated in the rally organised in Sydapuram village where the pylon was inaugurated by the party chief. Members of Parliament M Rajamohan Reddy, V Vara Prasad, ZP Chairman B Raghavendra Reddy, political secretary to Jagan Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, legislators Pratap Kumar Anil Kumar, Sridhar Reddy, K Sanjeevaiah, district convener Govardhan Reddy, and others were present. Jagan completed his yatra on Monday at Sydapuram and proceeds towards Kalichedu where he stays in the village on Tuesday covering 5 villages. He will interact with local weavers.
