AP Govt developing stadia at a cost of 350 crore
Guntur: Minister for Sports Kollu Ravindra said that the government was developing stadia at a cost of Rs.350 crore in the state. He inaugurated a three-day athletics meeting for the civil services officers at ANU grounds here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government was giving top priority for the construction and upgradation of sports stadia at a cost of Rs.2 crore in each Assembly constituency besides setting up sports academies and sports cities.
Minister Ravindra said that the State government was giving two per cent reservation for sports and added that the government would set up a stadium in Amaravati city on a par with international standards.
Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor Prof. A Rajendra Prasad said the state government has allotted Rs 27 crore for the development of infrastructure on the ANU premises. Principal Secretary sports Gopala Krishna Dwivedi and SAAP managing director Bangaru Raju were present.
