Andhra official held with Rs 60cr worth assets

Visakhapatnam: Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested a senior official of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) for amassing illegal wealth to the tune of Rs 60 crore. 

Pasuparthi Pradeep Kumar had joined the VUDA as building inspector in 1984 with a monthly salary of Rs 1,300. 

He told the officials that he is drawing a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month. however, his assets are said to be worth Rs 60 crore. The police raided his house in Visakhapatnam including several locations in both the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana where he is said to have invested in crores of rupees. 

Several documents pertaining to residential plots, buildings, flats, agriculture lands have been seized in Krishna, Anantapur and Kadapa districts.
