Follow in footsteps of Gandhi: K Rosaiah
Guntur: Former Governor of Tamil Nadu K Rosaiah called upon the youth to draw inspiration from the life of Mahatma Gandhi and follow in his footsteps.
Participating in a meeting to observe the 70th death anniversary of Gandhij at Sharada Niketan held under the aegis of Amaravati Institute of Social Sciences in the town on Tuesday, Rosaiah said that they were extremely fortunate that the Mahatma took birth in the country and said that he saw Mahatma Gandhi from a distance in his younger days.
Earlier, he floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his portrait on the occasion. District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that all the problems being faced in society could be solved by using Gandhian methods.
In his speech, MLA Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad said that he would identify the places where Mahatma Gandhi visited in the district during his tours and conduct meetings there and propagate the Gandhian thought. MLA Modugula Venugopal Reddy, freedom fighter Pavuluri Sivarama Krishnaiah and others were present on the occasion.
