Hindustan Zinc to open its unit in Nellore

Nellore: District Collector R Mutyala Raju asked the officials to prepare assessment report on basic amenities such as roads, water and electricity in the areas where the proposed Hindustan Zinc and other firms are coming up in the district shortly.

He also directed the officials to prepare proposals for obtaining the forest Clearance for 1,016 hectares of land essential for various projects in the district. The Collector reviewed with district officials at his camp office on Wednesday on the progress of various projects being taken up by the state government.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said that revenue and forest authorities have to co-ordinate with each other to identify the lands and take forward the process of obtaining the mandatory clearances.

He also asked the officials on the status of the lands require forest clearance across the district. Mutyala Raju instructed the authorities to take measures for providing water to 4 lakh acres additionally.

Authorities have to complete survey for land acquisition and upload the details online, he added. Raju directed the officials to complete the survey for Kandaleru, Seetharamapuram, Somasila high level projects for clearance.

Further, Collector asked the officials about progress of NTR Jalasiri scheme. He explained that they had given 1,526 solar pump sets against the target of 3,100 pump sets. DWMA Project Director Srinivasa Rao, District Panchayat Officer Srihari and others were present.
