Muslim clerics tender apology over Surya Namaskaram 

Vijayawada: Two Muslim clerics of the city tendered apology to Muslims for participating in Surya Namaskaram programme conducted by the state government on Sunday at the IGMC stadium. 

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also participated in the event. The two spiritual leaders faced wrath from Muslims and some organisations for uttering some words during the programme.

Moulana Abdul Khadeer, the Imam of Shahi Mosque, Wynchpet, Vijayawada, and Shahid Parvez, who runs a madrasa apologised to the community through a video on Tuesday.
