Students told to motivate people
Srikakulam: Each student from Intermediate to PG should motivate two persons for the construction of individual toilets, suggested District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy.
He was the chief guest at a workshop on open defecation-free district and post ODF activities conducted at BR Ambedkar University (BRAU) campus at Etcherla in Srikakulam on Tuesday.
The Collector said that about 2,46,000 should be constructed across the district before deadline i.e; March 31 this year. Of them, 46,000 are in progress and remaining two lakh need to be finished.
He lauded BRAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Kuna Ramji and Registrar Prof Gunta Tulasi Rao for sending students out on Saturdays as part of social work. The Collector asked them to send the students on ODF duty every week. Subject experts in sewage treatment NV Bhaskar Rao, principals of various government and private colleges attended.
