Income Tax sleuths raid YSRCP leader Vemireddy’s offices
Nellore: Income Tax (IT) sleuths reportedly conducted raids on the houses and offices of noted philanthropist and YSRCP leader Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy on Wednesday night. According to sources, IT officials raided houses at Nellore and Chennai and conducted checks at head office in Hyderabad.
However, there was no clear information on the raids at his residences in Nellore and Chennai but sources confirmed that searches were conducted in Hyderabad as it is the head office for all global projects of VPR Infrastructures.
It may be recalled that Prabhakar Reddy had joined YSRCP in December 2013 and was a sleeping member though the party designated him as Nellore district coordinator. He tried for RS seat from TD a couple of years ago and failed to achieve it.
But, he kept silent for the last two years and freshly he again joined hands with YSRCP and participated in Praja Sankalpa Yatra of Jagan a couple of days ago. Sources said he was offered Rajya Sabha seat this time and hence he again had become active in the party. At this juncture, IT sleuths conducted raids on his residences and offices on Wednesday assumed significance.
