3 corporators suspended for a day

Vijayawada: The corporators of YSR Congress Party in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation staged a protest after Mayor Koneru Sridhar submitted the budget in the council hall where the general body of the council was meeting held here on Friday. The council suspended the three corporators of YSR Congress Party for their unruly behavior. The corporators raised doubts about the budget details and asked the Mayor to explain them.

But the Mayor requested them to allow him to continue his speech while passing some caustic comments. The members of YSR Congress Party venting their ire at the Mayor threw away the budget copies. On this occasion, the Mayor tried to convince them but they continued to agitate.

At that time, the corporators of two parties blamed each other. Tension prevailed for some time. Finally, the Mayor suspended the three corporators B Vijay, Chandana Suresh and J Purnamma. The decision has raised some more heat and the corporators of YSR Congress Party raised slogans against the ruling Telugu Desam.
