CM e-Eye centre inaugurated

Visakhapatnam: Collector Pravin Kumar inaugurated the CM e-Eye centre at Community Health Centre, Chodavaram, in the district on Thursday. The Collector said that the centres would also be established at Paderu, Araku Valley, Aganampudi, K Kotapadu, Bheemili, Nakkapalli, Yelamanchili and Pendurty.

The CM e-Eye centre is a new initiative which is first of its kind service in the country. After getting the feedback from the nine centres, more CM e-Eye centres would be set up in the district. The government has been establishing 110 centres across the state.

The most advanced free eye care medical services would be provided in the CM e-Eye centres which have been set up with Public Private Partnership, Pravin Kumar said.  

The centres would provide all the eye related services and medicines free of cost and also all the minor surgeries would be performed in the centres. After screening the patients at the centres, they would refer the patients to the district regional eye hospital, if necessary, the Collector added.

On the occasion, the collector announced that the Chodavaram Community Health Centre would be developed at a cost Rs 2 crore as a best referral hospital.

The government is implementing several reforms in the hospitals and ensuring round-the-clock quality services. The District Hospitals Coordinator and RDO have been directed to visit the hospitals periodically to ensure quality services to the patients, the Collector said.
