Nellore: Former Congress MP Chinta Mohan said while Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to continue in power for the next five years by saying Polavaram completion wil take some more years and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jaganmohan Reddy is attending the CBI court on a regular basis.

Interacting with media persons at Indira Bhavan here on Friday, the former MP asked the Opposition leader to clarify whether he is opposing the BJP or supporting it. Chinta alleged that the budget is useful for corporate firms in the country and said that there is a need to rule the state other than these ‘two communities’ which were taking hold for the last 60 years.

He said that former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy had opposed the BJP. He said Jagan should answer his question before addressing the public at South Amuluru in Nellore rural mandal. Only two communities in the state have been playing ‘40-20 cricket match’. One community had ruled the state for 40 years and the others governed 20 years, said Chinta Mohan. He demanded the NDA government to probe irregularities in Polavaram works by CBI.

The former MP termed Polavaram as ‘Avineethi Varam’ to the TDP supremo. He also alleged that contractors in other countries have also been asking the Chief Minister to handover contracts in the state. Chinta Mohan accused Chandrababu of taking money from the contractors offering big projects to them in the state.

‘Naidu had not got any appointment to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Davos. The Prime Minister also attended the international conference and no appointment was provided to the Chief Minister,’ said Chinta Mohan.

He also explained that the UPA–2 government had allocated funds for the commencement of works for Dugarajapatnam Port. But, the state government had not focused on the development of the region by neglecting construction of the port, he added. There is a need to rule the state by a polished and sincere politician like Puchalapalli Sundaraiah.
