10 TDP corporators quit following Collector’s warning
Kadapa: As many as 10 TDP corporators of Kadapa Municipal Corporation have submitted their resignations to party district president J Srinivasulu Reddy on Saturday, protesting unwanted behaviour of District Collector T Baburao Naidu towards them. In their resignation letter, they alleged that the Collector has scolded them with unparliamentary language when they approached him to discuss about the issue related to the distribution of house sites in Kadapa city.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, the corporators said, in recently concluded Janmabhoomi–Maa Vooru programme, as many as 850 house sites were distributed to the eligible in the Kadapa city. Following allegations raised by YSRCP and Left parties over irregularities committed in selection of the beneficiaries, the district administration had ordered for a probe. The corporators said the officials, who had visited every home for conducting an enquiry, have acted rudely with some beneficiaries.
In this connection, the corporators met the Collector to take to his notice about officials’ misbehaviour during the probe. But, the corporators accused Collector of warning them that he would direct the ACB to raid their houses. They said it was not proper way for the Collector to behave with the public representatives. Corporators A Sankar Reddy, V Parvathamma, M Rajasekhar Reddy and others were present.
