Kakinada Book Festival to be held from Feb 10 to 18

Kakinada: The Book Festival of Kakinada will be organised from 10th February to 18th February, said Vijayawada Book Festival Society Secretary Lakshmayya here on Saturday. At a Press conference held at a private hotel in the city, he gave out the details of the Book Festival. 

He says that they are planning to organise book festivals in 11 cities including Vijayawada in the state. In West Bengal, the government organises such book fairs. It will be the third fair in Kakinada being organised by them. He said that the Department of Language and Culture AP, NTR Trust and Vijayawada Book Festival Society (VBFS) will be jointly organising this fair.

Lakshmayya expressed his happiness over the participation of the government of AP and the NTR Trust in the Book Festival. Besides selling the books they will also organise literary discussions with the participation of famous authors and writers on socioeconomic problems, book releases, literary and drawing competitions to children every day until the 9th day of the fair. He said that a total of 50 stalls would be established in the book festival. Nearly 10 lakh books would be displayed from 200 publishers across the country. 

AP Finance Minister Yanamala Rama Krishnudu is likely to inaugurate the Book Festival on 10th February. VBFS President and Pallavi Publications Chairman Swarna Venkata Narayana also spoke at the Press meet. Later they released a poster on Kakinada Book Festival. NTR Trust Programme Officer Rahman and Ideal College lecturer Rama Chandra Reddy were also present.
