Doubling works to be completed by 2020

Eluru: Vijayawada Additional Divisional Manager (SCR) MV Ramarajuhas said that the Bhimavaram-Gudivada-Vijayawada doubling line construction would be completed by 2020.

He inspected Undi Railway station on Bhimavaram-Gudivada section on Sunday.  Speaking to media on the occasion, he said that the Bhimavaram-Moturu doubling works were progressing speedily they would be readied by March 2018.

However, the first contractor was changed to take up the Vijayawada-Gudiwada doubling works. This has delayed the progress of  work, he added. Now, the works have started in that section.  Similarly, the Bhimavaram-Nidadavole, Bhimvaaram-Narsapuram works are also progressing in a speedy manner.

He said that some passengers have brought to the notice of railway that they are facing problems  due to lack of the second platform. He directed the officials to raise the height of the platform by completing the earthwork. As part of modernisation of stations, Undi Station would also be developed. 

Passengers have suggested the Additional Divisional Manager to take steps to halt express trains. Likewise, the farmers requested the railway official to provide a way to their field which was at the other end of the track.
