Tirumala Hospital performs 615th knee-replacement surgery

Kadapa: The city-based private hospital --Tirumala Hospital – has successfully conducted 615th knee replacement surgery on a woman farmer Kudumala Chennamma,56, by a team led by expert knee-replacement surgeon M Krishna Chaitanya.  The team successfully conducted the replacement surgery on both her legs to set straight her bent knees. 

Disclosing this to media here on Sunday, hospital chairman Dr Surendrababu said the hospital became a hub for knee-replacement surgery. Chennamma, who hailed from Anuvaripalle in Kasinayinipalle mandal, faced severe problem as both her legs were bent. 

Dr Krishna Chaitanya said the patient faced difficulty in walking. The hospital conducted several diagnostic tests on her prior to operating on her at laminar air flow theatre of the facility. 

The hospital offers cashless treatment to government employees and pensioners under the Employees’ Health Scheme. Tirumal Hospital administrative officer M Teja was also present on the occasion.
