Vice- President voices concern over economic inequalities

Vijayawada: Vice- President M Venkaiah Naidu has said it is pitiful that economic and social inequalities  are increasing in the country despite progress achieved by the country in many spheres. He said agriculture and industry are two eyes of the country and both should be given importance to achieve the economic development of the country.

Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated a medical camp at the Swarna Bharat Trust (SBT) at Atkuru village of Unguturumandal in Krishna district on Sunday. Addressing a meeting on the occasion, the Vice-President has said the trust was launched with the objective of doing service to the youth, women and farmers. He said that he likes agriculture and villages and felt reforms should come in the society to achieve economic equality.

He said the SBT is conducting health camps because health is very important for every individual and one should take care of their health. The SBT was first started in Nellore district followed by in Vijayawada and Hyderabad. The next branch will be established in Vizag, he said.

Supreme Court judge Lavu Nageswara Rao, who was present at the medical camp,has said right to live is the fundamental right of the people and felt the government should take the responsibility of providing medical and health care to the people.

He complimented the Swarna Bharat Trust for conducting the medical camps. Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Health Minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas, film actor Daggubati Venkatesh and others attended the medical camp where tests were conducted to identify cancer, eye and dental and other health problems.
