Corrupt officer created disputes, alleges TDP MLA

Srikakulam: A corrupt building inspector in the city planning section of the municipal corporation was creating trouble, alleged TDP Srikakulam MLA G Laxmi Devi. 

Speaking to the media at her residence here on Monday, she narrated the entire episode regarding the removal of illegal constructions, illegal collections and shifting of the officer immediately. 

The MLA charged that the inspector gave his approval  illegal constructions in the city by circumventing the rules after collecting huge amounts as a bribe. She said that after gathering information over the building inspector’s corrupt practices, she lodged a complaint with the Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana. 

Responding to her complaint, Narayana transferred him immediately but the then Commissioner of Municipal Corporation did not relieve him. As a result, both the Commissioner and Inspector were shifted out from Srikakulam, the MLA added. The MLA said that she was following rules and regulations while giving instructions to district officials, but some of them were creating problems.
