President of CITU panel J Ayodya Ram and general secretary of CITU  YT Dasu said that the  CITU, which formed as a front with seven other unions, contested in the elections and the unity of the strength proved with the win.

They alleged that the INTUC during its regime had failed to protect the welfare of the employees and majority of the employees expressed their dissent over the HRA settlement done by the INTUC.

The TNTUC votes also helped to the CITU to win the crown. In fact, the TDP suspended its senior TNTUC leader B Pydiraju, who supported the CITU panel. Pydiraju now joined the CITU and emerged as one of the key players in the win.
