GoM allots lands to govt institutions, private firms
Amaravati: The Group of Minsters (GoM) has allotted lands to educational institutions and to some central and state government institutions. The GoM, led by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, allotted lands to eight educational institutions including Chinmaya Mission School, Rayan Global school, Glanden Academy and Heritage Experimental Learning school besides others.
Lands were also allotted to CBI, Indira Gandhi Open University, Indian Army, State Forensic Science Laboratory, India Meteorology department, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Bank, Union Bank and AP Transco.
The ministers said that notices will be issued to some organisations who were allotted lands but failed to start construction works in the lands. Minister GantaSrinivasa Rao, who is part of the GoM, said the GoM was cautious in allotting lands as the land prices increased in Amaravati.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Kamineni Srinivas said salaries would be increased by 50 per cent to the contract employees of Health department. He said 19,325 contract employees in the Health department and the government will benefit.
Government has to bear a burden of Rs 219.24 crore due to increase of salaries. He also said pay commission would be set up to lookinto issue of increase of salaries to PG doctors. Minister for Excise K Jawahar was also present.
