Man’s bid to abduct woman foiled

Visakhapatnam: Police detained a man when he tried to abduct a woman after throwing chilli powder into her eyes at Gurudwara Junction here on Tuesday.

According to police, Puneeth Kaur, a native of  Kanpur, was working as a faculty at  a coaching centre at Shankarmattam and  residing at an apartment with her colleagues at Seetammadhara.

On Tuesday afternoon, while she was returning after offering prayers at Gurudwara, Prasanna Thane, who was waiting in a car bearing MH 05 DH 6130  in front of  Gurudwara gate, tried to pull her into his car by throwing  chilli powder into her eyes.

But locals, who witnessed the incident, caught the accused after the victim raised alarm. Later, Puneeth Kaur lodged a complaint with police against Prasanna Thane. Based on the complaint, police took the accused into their custody.
