Mother and Child Hospital at Government General Hospital
Guntur: Minister for Medical and Health Kamineni Srinivas said that the state government would construct Mother and Child Hospital on the Government General Hospital (GGH) premises here at a cost of Rs 65 crore.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, he said that while the state government would pump in Rs 35 crore, the alumni of the Guntur Medical College, settled in the USA has decided to donate the remaining Rs 30 crore The Health Minister said that the alumni would sign an MoU with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu soon and added that after signing the MoU, the state government would take up the construction works of the hospital on the GGH premises.
He showed the designs of the new hospital premises. He said that the Andhra Pradesh Medical Infrastructure Corporation would construct it and added that they would also inaugurate the MRI scan machine in the GGH soon.
Furthermore, the Health Minister said that after TDP government came to power, the medical services in the government hospitals have greatly improved. He said that they were rendering super-specialty services in the GGHs and number of out-patients has increased in the government hospitals.
APMIDC chairman R.Lakshmipathi, District Collector Kona Sasidhar, GGH superintendent Dr. Raju Naidu and others were present on the occasion.
