Collector suggests change in designs of Tata hospital

Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna instructed the representatives of the TATA Trust on Thursday to start the construction works of cancer hospital soon near SV Zoo Park in Tirupati. He reviewed the developments with regard the cancer hospital with Tata Trust representatives and government officials.

Tata Trust has shown the plans of hospital buildings through powerpoint presentation. Trust people brought to the notice of the Collector that the TTD has allotted four lakh square feet land to Alimelumanga Charitable Trust of Tata Trust near Zoo park for the purpose and to start the works they need government’s approval.

On examining the plans, the Collector opined that the designs have to be changed and they should resemble spirituality as it will be constructed at the abode of Lord Venkateswara. Citing the example of airport which was built on Garuda shape, cancer hospital designs also should be designed which gives mental peace to the patients.

Pradyumna also suggested that every block in the hospital should have a different name and the entrance itself should provide a positive feel to the patients. He also suggested to construct a meditation centre in the hospital and asked them to take approvals from forest, electrical, fire and labour departments by paying the requisite fee.

Concerned department officials were asked to provide approvals within one week of getting the fee from the Trust. Sub Collector C Keerthi, trust representative Pavithra Kumar, Project Manager Ramana, DCHS Saralamma and other officials participated.
