Conference on India-ASEAN Partnership at 25 today

Visakhapatnam: India - ASEAN Partnership @ 25, an international commemorative conference,  will be held at GITAM University on February 10, said GITAM School of International Business (GSIB) Joint Director Prof KK Narayanan, Joint Director, here on Friday.

Myanmar Ambassador Moe Kyaw Aung, Thailand Consular General Krong Kanit Rakcharoen, High Commission of Malaysia First Secretary  Muhammad Azfar Abdullah, Laos First Secretary Phonekeo Sakdavong, Honorary Consular General of Republic of South Korea Suresh Chukkapalli, EXIM Bank of India Chief General Manager Prahalathan Iyer, Indian Coast Guard former Director General Dr Prabhakaran Paleri and Joint Director General of Foreign Trade Alok Dwivedi, Dean, School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi Prof. Ajay Patnaik will be attending the conference, he added.

Conference Director Dr Radha informed that the objective of taking stock of the 25 year old partnership India enjoys with ASEAN and furthering areas of cooperation and development for mutual benefit. The papers spanning India –ASEAN Partnership – Prospects and Challenges, Security Challenges in the Asia – Pacific Region, Issues related to globalisation, income inequalities, sustainable development and climate change would be discussed at the conference. More than 40 papers would be presented in parallel sessions, she added.
