Chants of Mother Mary reverberate Gunadala shrine
##BIG-IMAGE#Vijayawada: Lakhs of devotees from neighbouring states and from across the state thronged Gunadala Mary shrine, chanting the name of Mother Mary, offering prayers and seeking blessings on Saturday. Women were seen tying swings to trees praying for children while some others were breaking coconuts to get their desires fulfilled, besides lighting candles and incense sticks.
Kurnool Bishop P Anthony led the service on the second day and offered blessings to all the devotees. He told everyone to follow the way of Mother Mary to be prosperous in life, and the Mother has a special place for her creation, love and sacrifice, he added.
Vijayawada Catholic Dioceses Bishop T Joseph Raja Rao said that spiritual thought among youth has grown these days, and devotees were visiting the holy shrine to seek blessings. He said that the desires of the devotees, who come and worship on the holy days seeking blessings, would be fulfilled.
Monsignor M Prasad said Mother Mary would bless all the people like her own children and all the devotees who visit the temple would get the blessing abundantly. He expressed that special prayers were offered for the peace, unity and harmony of all the states and the country, he added.
Special cultural programmes were performed at Bishop Grassi School grounds.
