Install more LED TVs at queue lines at Kalahasti: Collector

Tirupati: District Collector P S Pradyumna inspected arrangements for pilgrims at Srikalahasti temple on Saturday in view of Mahasivaratri on February 13.

• Two lakhs devotees likely to visit the temple on Maha Sivaratri day

He gave several suggestions to temple EO D Bhramaramba on various issues. Pradyumna instructed to arrange more LED TVs in queue lines and telecast devotional programmes, importance of Sri Kalahasti and Mahasivaratri to engage the waiting devotees.
 
After inspecting the command control room, the collector said that the dark areas were not covered and there was a need to increase the number of CCTVs immediately. 

Likewise, more biotoilets have to be arranged, he said and asked the temple authorities to give importance for sanitation and maintain the temple on the lines of and Tirumala which is known for its cleanliness. He recalled that the President of India Ramnath Kovind also praised the cleanliness there and wished that every temple should follow the same practices.

Collector suggested to arrange more breast-feeding centres to facilitate mothers to feed their kids. “Display boards should be kept at queue lines stating the expected time of darshan so that devotees will have an idea about it and mentally prepare for that. Also, for every 10 meters there should be one volunteer and for every 50 meters emergency gates should be arranged.
 
In view of maha laghu darshan being implemented on the day of Maha Sivaratri, steps should be taken to keep more lighting with ghee lamps in the sanctum sanctorum to facilitate devotees witness god more clearly,” Pradyumna suggested. 

Though it was estimated that two lakhs devotees likely to visit the temple on Maha Sivaratri day, the officials should be ready with all arrangements even if the number increase further. 

The collector directed the temple officials to keep drinking water and biscuits ready in queue lines for pilgrims. Apart from EO Bhrarmaramba, DSP Kishore, CI Satyrnarayana, temple EE Venkatanarayana, DE Janardhana Rao and other officials took part.
