Nepal team visits Visakhapatnam Port Trust
Visakhapatnam: The Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, Government of Nepal, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, the Joint Secretary, Rabi Shankar Sainju, the Director General of Department of Customs of Nepal and President, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Rajeshkaji Shrestha, along with the other delegation, visited the Visakhapatnam Port Trust on Saturday.
The delegation met Chairman of VPT MT Krishna Babu and the representatives of PPP operators, CONCOR, Stevedoring Agencies and Container Lines.
The Chairman of VPT welcoming the delegates briefed the infrastructure and facilities available for movement of Nepal cargo through Visakhapatnam Port.
Various important issues relating to setting up of office in Visakhapatnam, reduction of cost duly taking into consideration the logistics, availability of rakes, pendency and detention of rakes, documentation of records, security aspects, customs clearances and import duty by customs for dry bulk cargo were discussed during the meeting. The suggestions and views of the trade were also discussed in the meeting.
Secretary of Ministry of Commerce of Government of Nepal urged that cooperation and coordination by both the governments would facilitate better trade between the two countries and thanked the Chairman VPT and his team about their hospitality.
