New Delhi: YSRCP general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP V Vijay Sai Reddy on Friday met the Election Commission and appealed to him to keep an eye on the corrupt practices of the ruling Telugu Desam in the Rajya Sabha elections.

He submitted a memorandum on behalf of party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and said that the TDP was resorting to unethical and illegal practices to win the elections. He said that the TDP was foisting cases against the YSRCP MLAs and is trying to prevent them from voting. Hence, he appealed to the Election Commission to direct the State Government not to arrest YSRCP MLAs and prevent them from voting.

“We have no faith in the AP Police and want the Central forces to provide security to the YSRCP MLAs. We want a polling booth to be set up in the common capital,” he said.

He also pointed out that the TDP, which has already weaned away 23 YSRCP MLAs through threats and allurements, is trying to poach four more MLAs. Hence, he wanted the EC to keep an eye on the goings-on in Andhra Pradesh. He also lodged a complaint against Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad.
