Fight against CPS at national level: Ashok Babu to parties
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh NGOs Association President P Ashok Babu appealed the political parties to extend their support to the agitating employees for reviving old pension scheme instead of contributory pension scheme (CPS).
Addressing the employees who staged protest demonstration at Dharna Chowk in the city on Saturday, he asked the political parties to join the employees to fight against the Centre at national level. He termed the present employees agitation as freedom movement.
He wondered as to how the governments would act against the rights of employees and asked the employees’ unions to join hands with them cutting across party lines. The State governments also should take initiative to solve the problem though the issue is under the purview of the Centre, he said.
MLC BodduNageshwara Rao has said that the contributory pension scheme (CPS) would have adverse impact on future of employees. The governments were cancelling the provisions and benefits which were given in accordance with the Constitution, he said.
Former minister and YSR Congress leader K ParthaSaradhi, former MLA Malladi Vishnu and other leaders were present. On this occasion, the employees raised slogans against the governments while displaying placards. They demanded that the governments should implement old pension scheme.
