I & PR Dept to be strengthened

Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Rural Housing, Information and Public Relations Kalava Srinivasulu said that steps will be initiated to strengthen Information and Public Relations department, which is playing a key role in creating awareness among people on government welfare programmes as well development schemes. 

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said there was no plan to wind up the department which is eyes and ears of the government. He said the vacant posts in the department would be filled. The government will take a decision within a week relating to housing schemes especially for journalists and a separate fund would be formed in the ensuing budget in this regard.
