2,200 cops deployed for security

Guntur: The  Guntur rural district police deployed 2,200 police  personnel to maintain law and order at  Kotappakonda  to mark Maha Sivaratri festival on Tuesday.  

They deployed 3 additional SPs, 15 DSPs, 50 Circle Inspectors, 148 Sub-Inspectors. Armed Force, Special Striking Force and two platoons of APSP were also deployed. They were using three drone cameras also as part of security.

In addition to this,  the police were using services of NCC cadets and NSS volunteers. They have set up three command control rooms at Kotappakonda to monitor the situation. They have pressed  30 Blue Colts  teams also.

Special Striking Force will see bund bust arrangements. Crime police team will step up vigilance on pick pocketers. She teams will take monitor eve-teasers.  

Guntur Rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu has already reached Kotappakonda and reviewed   security arrangements and urged the women  not to wear gold ornaments.
