Lovers commit suicide on Valentine’s Day

Chirala: In a suicide pact, a man and woman committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train at Vetapalem on Wednesday night. The woman was already married, said police.

According to the railway police, Chitirala Sairam (24), a native of Chirala. He and Potti Ramya (24) fell in love a few years ago but their parents didn’t accept their proposal. Ramya’s parents married her off to one Ravi Kumar of Jandrapet five years ago. 

Though she is mother of two children, Ramya and Sairam used to meet often. On Wednesday, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, they met and spent the day at Nagarapamma temple in Vetapalem. During the night, they committed suicide jumping in front of the running train. The railway police registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
