JNTUA V-C inaugurates NSS youth fest
Anantapur: JNTUA Vice-Chancellor Prof S Srinivasa Kumar inaugurated a university-level NSS Youth Festival-2018, here at auditorium on a grand note on Friday. Earlier in the morning, the V-C along with Rector Prof D Subbarao, Registrar Prof S Krishnaiah and NSS Coordinator MLS Deva Kumar flagged off the rally at the main building on the college premises.
As many as 140 students from the affiliated colleges in Anantapur, Chittoor, Kurnool, and Kadapa have participated. The NSS volunteers exhibited different artforms and cultural displays. Speaking on the occasion, the VC said the NSS was started in 1969 and 300 universities and 30,000 students were members. Now, it is of 700 universities. He appealed the youth to come and join NSS for social service.
Registrar Prof Krishnaiah called upon the students to take up charitable work as part of social service. Deva Kumar said, the winners of the various competition at this level will participate in state-level meet, which is slated to be held in Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati. College Principal Prof K Prahlada Rao, PRO M Ankarao, NSS Programme Officers M Ramasekhar Reddy, Dr Jitendra Goud, Lalitha Kumari and students were present.
