BJP MLCs lambast TDP over Special Category Status
Srikakulam: BJP MLCs Somu Veerraju and PVN Madhav camedown heavily on TDP and YSRCP on Special Category Status to AP issue. They objected TDP MP KRamohan Naidu’s commentson railway zone. The MLCs spoke to newsmen at Srikakulam and Palakondawhen they came to attendtheir party booth level committees meetings on Saturday.
They have said that about 30 percentsubsidy funds were provided by the Central government for establishment of industries in seven backward districts in AP. But not even one unit has come up. Under special category status (SCS)
Central government has to provide Rs 16,000 crore to AP in a span of ten years; but in four years, BJP government provided Rs 12,000 crore aid and state government should answer its utilization, they pointed out.
The NDA government provided Rs 1600 crore for Amaravati so far but Chief Minister Chandrababu failed to utilise it properly. As part of backward districts development, we were given Rs 150 crore out of Rs 200 crore for Srikakulam. But district ministers failed to utilise it. Regarding railway zone, TDP MP and former Union ministerKYerrannaidu prevented the zone in Visakhapatnam, the MLCs alleged. Now, his son and TDP MP KRammohan Naidu demanding railway zone.
