Centre allocated RS 1 lakh crore for NHs in State: Haribabu

Visakhapatnam: Countering the TDP government’s allegations against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre over allocation of funds, BJP State president and MP K Haribabu again said that the Centre has been giving top priority in allocation of funds to the State.

Giving an example, the BJP MP said that the Centre released funds to the tune of Rs one lakh crore for construction of the national highways (NHs) in the State. 
The Centre has allocated Rs 7 lakh crore for development of national highways across the country in which Rs one lakh crore exclusively was given to Andhra Pradesh, the MP claimed.

Haribabu inaugurated Jute Corporation of India Limited zonal office in the city on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Haribabu said that everyone now was discussing about the Centre’s allocation of funds to the State. 

Apart from implementing the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act-2014, the Centre has been giving more projects and funds to the State, Haribabu said. The new zonal office of the Jute Corporation was also established in the State by the Central government, he pointed out.

The BJP government almost fulfilled 10 major assurances to the Andhra Pradesh. In fact all the assurances can be fulfilled in a span of 10 years. But, the BJP government sanctioned the projects giving highest priority, Haribabu said.

Talking on Jute Corporation zonal office, he said that with the help of the new zonal office, all the jute related issues of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha States would be cleared at locally. 

Skill centres in jute production would be introduced to train the young enthusiastic people and also provide financial assistance through Mudra loans to encourage self-employment, Haribabu said.

On the occasion CMD, Jute Corporation of India,  KVR Murthy, said that for the first time in Visakhapatnam city a zonal office was established with the  funds from Central government. As Kolkata is very far away, the Visakhapatnam zonal office would help in monitoring jute production in the States of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, he added.
