Jagan dares Naidu on no-trust move

Ongole/ Hyderabad: YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Sunday dared the TDP whether it would support if the YSRC moved a no-confidence motion against the NDA government for reneging on the special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

"We are ready to move a no-trust motion but we do not have enough number of MPs. Our strength is only five now.  Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has purchased many of our MPs like cattle in a shandy," Jagan said, addressing a public meeting at Kandukuru in Prakasam district during his 91st day of Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

The YSRC leader said, on the contrary, if the TDP moved a motion of no-trust on special category status issue, the YSRC would support it undconditionally.

Reacting to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan's suggestion of moving a no-confidence motion against the Centre, Jagan said that he had already given a call for all parties to join hands with the YSRC, including the TDP, to fight for special category status. "So far, there is no response," he said. 

He came down heavily on Pawan Kalyan for constituting a joint fact-finding committee. “It is said the committee will find out what the Centre has given and what the state has received. I want to know whether Pawan Kalyan is at a loss to understand whether the state was receiving funds or not, going by what Chandrababu Naidu has been saying.

Since 2014, Naidu has been praising the national budget every year. Now, as elections are approaching fast, he says he had not received anything. This itself tells you whether the state has received funds or not," he said.

Describing Pawan Kalyan as TDP's partner, Jagan said that number crunching from the statements from the state and the Centre will be an exercise in futility. This is the time for you to fight for special category status. "If the state gets the status, investments would come even without anyone trying for them because the investors would get exemption from payment of income tax and GST," he said.

Jagan asked Naidu why he had settled for a special package when you were supposed to fight for the special category status and reiterated that his party was committed to take the war to its logical end. "On March 1, we will stage protests at the Collectorates, on March 3, party leaders will leave for Delhi, on March 5, we will bring pressure on the Centre and from March 6 our MPs will fight for the special category status in both the Houses of Parliament. After April 6, if there is no response, our MPs would resign,” he said.

He advised Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu Naidu not to cheat the people maintaining the package was better than the special category status. "Let us move a no-confidence motion in Parliament. Let us fight for the special category status," he said.
