Blockchain tech will create more jobs: AP IT Advisor

Tirupati: Special Chief Secretary and Information Technology (IT) Advisor to the AP government J A Chowdhary said on Monday that blockchain technology, artificial intelligence and big data analytics with create more jobs in the IT sector.

He has participated as chief guest for the one-day seminar on blockchain technology jointly organised by the Tirupati branch of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) at senate hall on the varsity premises here.

After the inaugurating the seminar, J A Chowdhary has stated that the AP government is the first government in the world to use blockchain technology for implementing e-governance. The IT Advisor exhorted the students to learn latest technologies by using e-learning resources.   

SVU Vice-Chancellor Prof A Damodaram has informed the gathering about the initiatives taken by the varsity for improving in academics. The national and international rankings received by the SVU is the proof of achieving an excellence on all parameters.

IETE president Dr KTV Reddy spoke about the various schemes of IETE through which it was reaching college students, faculty members and mainstream professionals in the ICT sectors by offering courses and organising seminars, conferences and training programmes. Dr Reddy informed that the IETE is playing a major role in the framing of national telecom policy.

South Zone mentor CK Haridas has outlined the IETE schemes for students. Dr Shashank Garg, Chief Mentor at Digital Innovations Lab, IIM Bangalore gave a detailed exposition of applications with blockchain technology in social and healthcare sectors.

NT Arun Kumar, Director General of the International Institute of Digital Technologies (IIDT), Tirupati gave an outline of the initiatives of the IIDT in solving the problems of society by bringing together ideas from different fields of pure and applied sciences through an interdisciplinary approach.

IETE governing council member Dr S Vijaya Bhaskara Rao, IETE Kozhikode centre chairman P G Nair, and others were present.
